Literature Text

When life throws me into the ocean's deep
And my dreams I have to compromise
I'll cross my heart and take the leap
And I will rise.

When it's hard to keep up the fight
Through the darkest, moonless skies
I shall set my soul alight
And I will rise.

When my own heart pulls me down
And I sink in tearful cries
When it feels I'm going to drown
I will push, and I will rise.

When I think I'm going to crumble
See the fire in my eyes
I will struggle and I'll stumble
But in the end, I'll rise.

Sometimes the pain's too much to take
And I feel inside I'll break
Giving up, though, is a mistake
Every time my faith dies.

When I think that I'm too weak
And composure's hard to keep
I will find the strength I seek
Like a Phoenix, I will rise.
It's about time I start writing more positive stuff. :XD:
Once, a friend of mine told me that the words we put effort into writing keep circling in our minds, and therefore, the same emotions come to the surface again. I've tried different styles of writing poetry but most of my poems are surrounded by a depressive aura. Of course, it feels good for me to express myself and let this energy flow out of me through writing, but I feel I should write things like this more often. It felt really good to have written something that will give me mental strength instead of grief every time I read it.
I hope you like it! Let me know in the comments :)

Those who wait
Upon the Lord
Shall renew their strength
They shall rise up
With wings as eagles

-Isaiah

Sohehow, your poem reminded me of this tidbit of ancient wisdom...
